The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo

For pets that shed fur A robot vacuum/mop combination is among the best floor cleaning solutions. The machine can vacuum and mop and even clean and dry its own mop pads.

It also has the highest suction power of any robot we've examined, with 8,000Pa. It also can save your home's maps and set cleaning schedules from its app.

1. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni

The X2 Omni robot vacuum-mop is the latest model in Ecovacs line of hybrid robot vacuum mops. This model that is wet-dry is fitted with Ecovacs' new AIVI 3D 2.0 lidar system that provides improved mapping and obstacles avoidance. The system uses dual laser LiDAR, which is similar to that used in self-driving vehicles. It can scan up to 32 feet across by the 270-degree angle. This results in more precise mapping as well as faster response time and better cleaning accuracy.

It also comes with a rotating mopping pad constructed of chenille, which makes it easier to scrub hard areas as opposed to traditional mops. In my tests it was able to clean the X2 Omni washed its pad in just a few seconds and was ready to go. I noticed that it was more accurate than other models which seemed to follow the grid of rooms. It was able navigate corners and edges of my rooms, and also create "Zambani patterns" up and down the middle of the room. It returned to its OMNI Station frequently to empty the dustbin and wash the mop with hot water, before starting another task of cleaning.

The X2 Omni is just as simple to use and set up as other Ecovacs products. Snap the dock into position then plug it in and pair it with your home WiFi network. It takes just a few minutes. Then, you're able to start the app and get started with your first cleaning task. I was able to modify my floor plan in about 15 minutes. This included creating limited areas for sweeping and mopping and rearranging the layout of furniture on the wall and more. The X2 Omni performed admirably during my tests. It scored high in the areas of pet hair removal and debris removal, and achieved near-perfect results in edge and crevices cleaning.

2. Deebot T10 Omni

If you need a powerful combination of mopping and vacuuming look into the EcoVACS Deebot Omni. It is the most advanced of the brand's T-line and features the brand's new OZMO Turbo 2.0 mopping system that uses dual-spinning brushes for better cleaning than traditional oscillating scrubbing. It has YIKO, an artificial language processing technology that is the first of its kind. It can respond to a variety of voice commands. The ECOVACS App allows you to plan your home, make cleaning schedules and adjust settings.

The main drawback of the T10 Omni is that it's not able to switch from mopping to vacuuming in one go. Both modes require that you attach and remove the mop heads as you need to which is great for most homes, but isn't an ideal choice for those who have a busy schedule.

The Deebot T10 is a great robot vacuum that gives impressive results. It removed more than 96% debris from our hardwood flooring. This is a remarkable performance. It did an excellent job on tiles and carpets, removing 99percent of dirt.

This robot mop and vacuum has a large docking station which offers cool water cleaning for its mop pads, and auto-emptying into a 3L disposable bag that is easy to replace, and hot air drying for quick and simple maintenance. It also has a large reservoir of water that allows it to be rinsed and dried more often between mopping sessions.

Deebot T10 has a wash tray that is built into its base, which is similar to other mopping robots. It uses the wash tray to wash and dry the mop pads while it is using them. It does not have a tray that can be removed, which means that dust, dirt and other grime will slowly build up at the bottom.

3. RoboVac X8 Hybrid

While the Anker-owned Eufy is well-known in the robot vacuum space This model is the first venture into the world of mopping. It has improved intelligence and support for multiple maps, LIDAR scanning and twin-turbine technology that adjusts automatically to the surface you are cleaning. It's a tempting mid-range vacuum cleaner although it can't meet its promise of being the ultimate source for floor cleaning.

The X8 Hybrid looks like a standard robotic vacuum cleaner from the top, with its circular shape with sweeping wheels and a raised area for sensors. However, flip it over there's an electric floor brush and one side sweeper brush that carries dirt from the edges into the main path of the robot's mouth. It's smaller than the main brushes of the iRobot Roomba S9 which I found made it easier to reach under chairs and couches.

Its mapping system lets you define no-mop areas as well as specific cleaning zones. However, it has a tendency to bump into things (including its own charging dock) and isn't always adept in negotiating rugs. It did a good job of removing pet hair from floors that were bare However, in our tests it was able to pick up 89.5 percent of cat litter - a figure that puts it ahead of all but the most powerful robots we've examined.

The X8 Hybrid is controlled via an app, but it also has physical buttons at its base. These buttons let you choose the cleaning mode, or turn the robot off/on. These buttons can be used to set up areas that aren't allowed to enter and access real-time maps. It's also a bit chatty, and will tell what it's going to do next (start cleaning) or notify you if something is wrong.

4. ILIFE A4s

This high-tech model is able to pick up pet hair, kibble and other messes with remarkable effectiveness. It can also move effortlessly around furniture legs. It comes with a feature set that is impressive, such as two cleaning modes, an automatic docking station and real-time obstacle avoidance technology. It's Wi-Fi-connected and best controlled via the Neato app, where cleanings can be scheduled and the overall maintenance requirements are monitored. The X2 Omni is an excellent choice for large homes with hardwood floors and carpet, but it requires some advanced planning to avoid getting stuck by power cords, toys or other unexpected obstacles.

This robot was very successful in our tests of hardwood floors and food particles. It was able to pick up everything, from a single rice grain to a variety of dog food pieces, with only one swipe. It had some issues with rugs however, generally, this vacuum cleaner is perfect for large rooms that have different flooring types and a mix of pets.

It's a bit expensive, but if you can manage the price, it's an excellent buy for those who want to leave their home hands-free to go about other tasks or complete chores. The A4s Pro also offers a handy auto-cleaning mode that automatically increases suction power to deal with difficult spills and dirt, and is equipped with a battery-powered ElectroWall which allows you to place boundaries where the robot isn't permitted to enter.

This budget-friendly model from a well-known new brand is the most affordable we've ever tested, and provides an outstanding value for money. Its basic navigation system uses an extremely basic random pathing algorithm and lacks room mapping capabilities, making it less time efficient than other models on this list. It's still able to get under furniture and in the corners. Its mopping mode performed well in our tests by picking up hairs and other debris.

5. Shark iQ

Shark's iQ isn't quite as robust as the Roomba S9, but it does better overall at getting rid of pet hair on all surfaces. It gets rid of floors with less thoroughly and does a fair job on carpets with a low pile, and it makes use of smart-pathing navigational technology for better maneuverability. It also allows you to assign it to a specific room, and its advanced suite of automation features includes no-go zones and scheduling. It even lets you stop and restart cleaning sessions and is perfect for homes with pets.

The self-cleaning brushroll is able to prevent the tangles caused by pet hair and other debris, and its self-emptying bagless docking station can hold up to 30 days of dirt before needing to be empty. It also has a set of side brushes that are angled to go deep into corners, and its multi-stage filtration system captures dust, dander and allergens for a cleaner air.

The robot vacuum is built well and feels solid. It is compatible with an app on Upgrade Your Cleaning Routine with Matrix Robot Vacuum smartphone that lets you change the vacuum's settings and schedule cleaning sessions ahead of time. The app lets you see the remaining battery life of the iQ and receive push notifications if it encounters any problems during a cleaning session. You can control it with your voice with an Amazon Alexa device or Google Assistant device. If you don't have either of these devices you can mark out areas with physical boundary markers strips.

The iQ is great in cleaning floors with no dirt, and does a decent job on carpets with low pile and shaggy edges. However, it doesn't offer the same level of autonomy as our top choices. It's also expensive and its recurring cost can be quite costly.
