If you combine Descovy with other antiretroviral medications, you may decrease your viral load to undetectable levels, and enhance your CD4 cell counts. This will allow you to stay healthy for a long time.

Descovy shouldn’t be used to prevent HIV infections in pre-exposure prophylaxis.

At the beginning of treatment with ARTs, you may experience temporary adverse effects like head pain, hypertension, or a malaise. These adverse effects generally get better or go away with time.

Descovy is well tolerated in most patients. The most widespread adverse effects of this drug are the same as with emtricitabine or tenofovir alafenamide. According to the clinical research, the most common adverse effect of TAF is sickness. In some patients, it may cause kidney damage. Patients with kidney dysfunction or those using drugs that may damage the kidney (such as Ibuprofen) are at greater risk of kidney adverse effects. Therefore, you should control renal function before and during the therapy with Descovy

TAF is a new version of an older medication known as tenofovir DF (tenofovir disoproxil fumarate). Partially, TAF was manufactured as a safer version of tenofovir DF. The clinical researches of combination HIV treatment, TAF was found to be safe and usually well tolerated with fewer adverse effects than tenofovir DF.
