Lenalidomide is a remedy for the treatment of cancer. It was originally intended as an agent for treating multiple myeloma, for which thalidomide is a conventional therapeutic treatment. Lenalidomide also showed efficacy in a class of hematologic disorders known as myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS). Along with several other remedies developed in recent years, Lenalidomide significantly improved overall survival in myeloma (which previously had a poor prognosis), although toxicity remains a problem for users.
